How do I see who changed something and put the old version back?

Open Settings > History, find the change, press See what changed, then Restore the earlier version. A restore can itself be undone.

Where: Settings > History

Who can do this: Owners

History is the safety net for your website. Every change to its content is listed with who made it, when, and what it was.

Before you begin

  • You must be an owner.

Steps

  1. Open History.
  2. Find the change. Use the search box to look for text in the change, who made it or the part of the site. Or use the filters: Who, What (the part of the site), When (today, last 7, 30 or 90 days) and Type (changes only, or restores only). Press Search.
  3. Changes are grouped by day. Each row shows the time, the part of the site, who made it and a short summary.
  4. Press See what changed. You see "Changed by" with the person and time, and What changed as lines like end: 19:00 → 18:00, added: Camp week or removed: ....
  5. To go back, press Restore the earlier version. A window asks you to confirm. Press Restore.

What you'll see

  • The part of your site goes back to how it was just before that change. Anything changed in that same part since then is replaced too. Other parts of your site are not touched.
  • The restore is added to History, marked as a restore, so you can undo it the same way.
  • If the change was deleting a competition, restoring creates the competition again, but registrations removed with it do not come back. Restoring a competition edit puts the details back but does not touch registrations.
  • Photos deleted for good since the change stay gone.
  • Lists show 50 changes per page. Use Newer and Older to move through them.

Troubleshooting

"No changes yet." Every save in the back office is listed after it happens, so a brand new gym starts empty.

"Another competition now uses the same address." You cannot restore a deleted competition while another one uses its web address. Rename or remove the other one first.

I cannot restore an old registration, payment or membership. History does not hold those. Contact NinjaHQ if you need something recovered from a backup. See How do I download a backup of my data?.

Questions

How long is history kept?

24 months.

Does restoring bring back registrations, payments or memberships?

No. History covers your website's content and settings, and competition details. Signed waivers, registrations, payments and memberships keep their own records.

Can a manager use History?

No. Only owners can see the history and restore earlier versions.

Changes from my AI assistant, where are they?

They are in the same list, marked with the person's name and "via" the app, for example "via ChatGPT".
