How do I see school breaks, closures and camp opportunities on the calendar?

Open Programs > Calendar: closures, competitions, camps, parties, holidays and nearby school days off, plus Camp opportunities when many schools are closed.

Where: Programs > Calendar

Who can do this: Owners, Managers

The calendar puts everything that changes your year in one view, so you can plan coaches, classes and camps.

Before you begin

  • NinjaHQ needs your gym's location to find nearby schools. Until it is set, the Schools near the gym box says to set the location first.

Steps

  1. Open Calendar. The top shows Kids out of school in the next 12 months and your Gym closures.
  2. Read Camp opportunities: weekdays when many schools are off and your gym has nothing planned. Press Plan a camp to open Special events, or Plan summer camps for summer break.
  3. Use the month grid and the arrows (‹ and ›) to move between months. Press Today to come back. Press a day to see what is on it, with buttons to add a closure or plan a camp or event.
  4. To add a closure or schedule change, press Add a closure or schedule change. It opens the Closures section on the Schedule page.

School districts (owners and managers)

In Schools near the gym, each district shows its schools nearby, the closest distance and its calendar status.

  • Ask NinjaHQ to look up the school calendars requests dates for districts that have none.
  • Edit dates under a district lets you type School Year and the days off yourself.
  • Find schools again refreshes the list. Search Radius (Miles) changes how far to look (3 to 40).
  • Press a district to see its schools, with distance, map and enrollment by grade.

What you'll see

The grid marks gym closures, schedule changes, competitions, camps and special events, parties booked, holidays and school days off with different colors.

Troubleshooting

"No school calendars yet." Press Ask NinjaHQ to look up the school calendars, or type the dates under Edit dates.

A district looks wrong. District calendars are researched from each district's own published calendar; edit the dates if you know better.

What counts as a camp opportunity?

A weekday when at least half of the nearby schools are off and nothing is planned at your gym that day.

Who can edit the school dates?

Owners and managers.
