How do I publish, take down or put back an earlier version of a Page Builder page?

Everything you change in the Page Builder is a draft first. Publishing is the step that shows it to visitors.

Before you begin

• Only owners and managers see the Publish, Take Down and Put Back buttons. Other editors see "An owner or manager can publish it."
• Open Page Builder. Each page shows its status: Live, Not live yet, or Live, with edits not published yet.

Steps

Publish

1. Check the page with Preview the Draft. It opens in a new tab.
2. Press Publish on the page and confirm. In the editor, Publish is in the toolbar and waits until your latest edits are saved.
3. View the Live Page opens the public page.

Drop edits you don't want

On a page that is already live, press Discard Changes and confirm. Everything changed since the last publish is thrown away. Visitors see no difference. This can't be undone.

Take a page down

Press Take Down and confirm. The page leaves your site. The draft and its versions are kept, so you can publish again later.

Put back an earlier version

1. Open Versions under the page. Each version shows its number, date and who saved it.
2. Press Put Back next to the one you want and confirm.

What you'll see

• Publishing, taking down and restoring are recorded in History.
• A page that has no published version shows your own standard page instead, so nothing changes until you publish.

Troubleshooting

There is no Publish button. You may not be an owner or manager, or the page is already live with nothing new to publish.

The live page looks the same after publishing. Reload the page. Pages are cached for a short time, up to about a minute.
