How do I change my website's colors, fonts and overall look?
In Website > Page Builder under Your Design, pick a personality or Adjust the Design, save the draft, then Publish the Design. Hard-to-read colors are refused.
The design is one shared set of colors, fonts and shapes for your Page Builder pages. Change it once and every page follows.
Before you begin
- Only owners and managers can change and publish the design.
- Changes go into a draft design first. Nothing changes for visitors until you publish.
Steps
- Open Page Builder and scroll to Your Design. A line summarizes the current personality, fonts, corners, buttons and cards, and swatches show the colors with a readability score for text and buttons.
- To start from a ready-made look, choose from Start From a Personality and press Use This Personality. This changes the draft design only.
- To fine-tune, open Adjust the Design, change the choices and press Save to the Draft Design. Colors that would be hard to read are refused with the reason.
- Check how it looks with Preview the Draft on a page, or the Section Library.
- When you like it, press Publish the Design and confirm. The button shows only when the draft has changes that aren't live.
What you'll see
- "This is the live design" when there is nothing waiting to publish, or "The draft design has changes that aren't live yet."
- The Section Library shows every kind of section in the current design, so you can judge the look before publishing.
Troubleshooting
I don't see Adjust the Design. Only owners and managers see it.
I published the design and a page looks off. Check it in the Section Library and adjust the design, then publish again. History records design publishes.
Questions
Why was my color refused?
Colors that would be hard to read are refused, with the reason. Pick a darker or lighter shade.
Does the design change my whole website?
Publishing the design changes every Page Builder page. On sites where the design also drives the whole website's look, it changes every page. The confirmation tells you which.
