How do I set up a Front Desk computer for my staff?

People with the Staff role always work in front desk mode. Where they sign in decides how they clock in. A Front Desk computer is the shared counter computer where anyone on staff signs in once and everyone clocks in and out with a PIN.

Before you begin

• You must be an owner.
• Do these steps on the counter computer itself, signed in as an owner.
• Add your staff with the Staff role. See the staff articles in the Staff and roles topic.

Steps

1. Open Home on the counter computer and find the Front desk mode card. Scroll to Front Desk computers.
2. Under Name This Computer type a name like "Front counter". If your gym has several locations, pick the Location of this computer.
3. Press Make this computer a Front Desk computer.
4. To unlink a computer later, press Unlink next to its name and confirm. To change its location, pick one and press Save.

What you'll see

• The card says "This computer is the Front Desk computer" with the name you gave it.
• A Staff person signing in on this computer sees the front desk, and Time clock opens the PIN keypad so every person clocks in as themselves.
• A Staff person on their own phone or any other computer sees the front desk and My time clock, to clock only themselves in. The PIN keypad is not available there.
• Owners, managers and website helpers are unchanged.

Troubleshooting

I do not see the name box. Only owners can link a computer, and the box is replaced by a note when this computer is already linked.

Staff cannot reach the PIN keypad. They are on a computer that is not linked, or the browser data was cleared. Link the computer again.

It says 10 computers is the limit. Unlink one first.
