How do free trial classes work?
Families book a free trial from a class page. You see it under Trial classes coming up, they get reminders, and you can cancel it. Turn trials off per class.
A free trial lets a family try one class before they enroll. It is the most common way new families start.

Before you begin
- Trials are offered per class. The switch is Offer free trials in the class's settings.
- Your classes must be on the Book a class page (see the related article).
Steps
Turn trials on or off for a class
- Open Classes & enrollment and press the class.
- In Class settings tick or untick Offer free trials, then press Save.
See the trials coming up
- Open Classes & enrollment.
- Read the Trial classes coming up box: the date, athlete and age, the class, and the parent's phone. The Trials coming column shows a count for each class.
- On Bookings, the trial athlete also shows on that day's class roster as "Free trial."
Cancel a trial
- Open the class on Classes & enrollment.
- Press Cancel beside the trial and confirm Cancel the trial.
The family is not emailed when you cancel, so let them know yourself.
What you'll see
- The family gets a confirmation email with the details, and a Sign the waiver button when one is needed.
- At check-in, a trial is used once and no charge or pack class is taken.
Troubleshooting
Families cannot book a trial. Check Offer free trials for that class, and that the class is not hidden.
A trial family did not get a reminder. Reminders can be switched off on the Emails page. Check that the trial and drop-in switch is on there.
Questions
Does the family pay anything?
No. A free trial is free, and they book it with a date from the class's next meeting dates.
Are reminders sent?
Yes. A reminder goes out the day before and a follow-up the day after, inviting the family to enroll. The follow-up is skipped if that child is already enrolled monthly. You can turn these off with the Trial and drop-in classes switch on the Emails page.
Do I get told when someone books?
Yes. The gym is emailed, and staff phones with notifications on get a New trial class alert.
