People are getting "page not found" on my website. How do I fix it?
In Website > Redirects, open Addresses people asked for that don't exist. Send each address to the right page with Redirect, or press the X to ignore it.
Sometimes people follow an old link to your site, from Google, Facebook or a printed flyer, and land on a page that doesn't exist. NinjaHQ keeps a list so you can send them to the right place.
Before you begin
Only owners can change redirects. The list appears on the Redirects screen once visitors have hit missing pages.
Steps
- Open Redirects and scroll to Addresses people asked for that don't exist.
- Each row shows the address, how many visits it had, when it was last asked for, and which site linked to it.
- Choose the right page in the list. NinjaHQ suggests one.
- Press Redirect. The address now sends visitors to that page.
- If an address is junk or nobody needs it, press ✕ to ignore it.
What you'll see
- A redirected address disappears from the list. The redirect is added to the main list above, and counts visits.
- If you have Website check-ups, the "busy missing pages" check points you to this list.
Troubleshooting
The list is empty. Nobody has hit a missing page recently, which is good.
I redirected it to the wrong page. Find the address in the main list on the same screen and choose a different page.
Questions
Does this list include search robots?
No. It lists only real visitors, not search robots or scanners looking for hacking paths.
Will old missing pages be sent to my home page?
No. An old address with no good match shows the page-not-found page, rather than dumping visitors on the home page.
