How do I change the menu on my website?
Open Settings > General, scroll to Menu, tick pages to show, rename and move them, group some under a Dropdown name, and press Save menu.
The menu runs across the top of your site and sits behind the Menu button on phones. You choose what shows, in what order and with what words.
Before you begin
Only owners can use Settings. Extra pages must already exist (see Pages) to appear as choices.
Steps
- Open Settings and scroll to Menu.
- Each row is one page. Tick Show to put it in the menu.
- Change Menu Text (up to 24 characters).
- To group pages, type the same name in Dropdown (optional) on each, for example "Classes" or "About us". They open from one menu item with that name, in the order shown here. A dropdown with one page is just that page.
- Use ↑ and ↓ to move a row.
- Press Save menu.
What you'll see
- The standard menu shows the usual pages and adds Teams and your extra pages by itself. Once you save, you are using your own menu and new pages are no longer added for you. Tick them here.
- Pages left out of the menu can still be reached from the footer. On phones, the Menu sheet also shows Contact us, Directions and folding groups for the footer pages not already in the menu.
- Contact appears in the top bar if you leave it out of the menu.
Troubleshooting
"Tick at least one page for the menu." Keep at least one row ticked.
"A menu fits up to 12 items." Untick a few or put some in a dropdown.
A new page isn't in my menu. You are using your own menu. Tick the page here, or press Use the standard menu.
I want to hide the Photos entry. Untick Show on the /photos row.
Questions
How many items can the menu have?
Up to 12 items, and up to 10 pages inside a dropdown.
What if my menu is too wide on a computer?
Links that don't fit move into a More menu automatically. Use dropdowns to keep the menu short.
How do I go back to the standard menu?
Press Use the standard menu at the bottom and confirm. Your own order and wording are dropped.
