How do customers track their order?

Customers use the link in their shipping email, or the Track an order page on your site where they enter the order number and the email they used at checkout.

Every shipped shop order has a private tracking page, so customers do not have to call or email to ask where their gear is.

What customers do

From the email. Each shipping email has a Track your package button that opens their tracking page. The order confirmation shows Track your order for shipped orders.
From the website. The shop page has a Track an order link. It opens a form asking for the Order Number and Email, then Find my order. The order number is in their confirmation email.
From My account. Paid shop orders have a Track your order link.

What the tracking page shows

Progress steps: Ordered, Shipped, In transit, Out for delivery, Delivered. Pick-up orders show Ordered, Ready, Picked up.
Each package with its carrier, the tracking number (linked to the carrier), the expected day and every scan.
The items in the order, and the city and state only, never the street.
A number the carrier has not shown yet is not listed.

What you do as the gym

Nothing extra. When you mark an order shipped with a tracking number on the Orders page, the page and emails follow. Owners choose which USPS updates are emailed in the shop settings.

Troubleshooting

A customer lost the shipping email. Send them to the Track an order page. They need only the order number and email.

The page says nothing about a package. If the number is USPS and the carrier has not shown it yet, it appears once USPS has a scan. Press Check with USPS now on the order's card in the Done tab.

Questions

What if a customer says the page does not find their order?

Ask them to check the order number (the prefix or # is ignored) and to use the same email they typed at checkout. For privacy the page never says which of the two was wrong.

Does the tracking page show their full address?

No, only the city and state.

Do search engines list tracking pages?

No. Tracking pages are not indexed.
