What is Search & AI visibility and how do I read it?

Search & AI visibility shows how often ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity name your site and your Google rank, checked monthly, when it is set up.

Where: Analytics > Search & AI visibility

Who can do this: Owners, Managers

This page tracks how often the big AI assistants name your website, and how your site ranks on Google across the United States. It is built for sites that are not tied to one street address, such as a league.

Before you begin

  • The menu item Analytics > Search & AI visibility only appears when NinjaHQ has set it up for your site. If you do not see it, a gym with a street address uses Search vs competitors instead.
  • NinjaHQ chooses the questions and searches to track. You do not need to enter anything.

Steps

  1. Open Search & AI visibility from the Analytics menu.
  2. Read the bar at the top. It says whether a check is running, how many checks have been done and when the last one was. A new check runs every month by itself. The first check is the "before"; every later one is compared with it.
  3. Read the tiles:
    • AI answers naming your site, out of all the answers checked.
    • AI answers linking to the website.
    • Google searches in the top 10.
    • Monthly searches reached (top 10).
    • Google AI Overviews citing the website.
  4. Under What AI assistants answer, see each question asked of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, with a Named or Not named badge and a "Links" badge when the answer links to your site. Two columns, Before and Now, show the change.
  5. Under Google, across the United States, see each search, how many people search it a month, and where your site ranks. A note shows when Google's AI Overview cites your site.
  6. Under What NinjaHQ changed, read the timeline of improvements made to help visibility.

What you'll see

Before the first monthly check, the page shows the questions and searches that will be checked, and any research done by hand earlier. Costs for the checks are never shown in your back office.

Troubleshooting

The page says it is not set up for this site. NinjaHQ sets the questions and searches to track. Contact NinjaHQ to turn it on.

It says a check is running. Results arrive within an hour.

Questions

Why don't I see this item in my menu?

It only appears for sites NinjaHQ has set up for it, such as league websites that are searched across the country instead of around one gym address.

Can I start a check myself?

No. Checks run by themselves every month. NinjaHQ can also start one.
