How do I use athlete bios for announcers and approve new ones?
Customers > Athlete bios lists every bio by division with search. Print it for announcers, download a CSV, and approve new bios and link requests.
Athletes and parents send a bio from the athlete bio form on your league website. This page turns those bios into a board an announcer can read at a glance, grouped by division.
Before you begin
- This page is only on league websites.
- Only mark an athlete's story for social media if their bio says OK to share.
Steps
Find a bio
- Open Athlete bios.
- Use Find an Athlete to search by name, gym or Instagram. If you have bios from more than one qualifier, use the Qualifier list to filter.
- Use the division links under the search box to jump to a division. Each division shows a count.
- Each card shows the athlete's name and how to say it, age, home gym, years training, Instagram, the qualifiers they plan to attend, fun facts and answers to the story questions.
Print or download
Press Print for a sheet to hand to announcers, or Download all (CSV) for a spreadsheet.
Approve new bios and requests
- If an athlete already has results on your website, a first bio waits for you. The New bios waiting for your OK box lists each. Press See the bio, then Approve or Decline.
- If a family asks to edit an athlete's profile with their email, the Requests to link a profile box shows it. Press Approve and link to let that email sign in and edit, or Decline.
Fix or remove a bio
- On a bio card press Contact and record.
- You can see who filled it in, the email, phone and when it was sent. To let another family member edit it, type the email under Add a Parent or Family Email and press Add email. To replace the athlete's own email use Change (name)'s Own Email.
- Press Delete to remove the bio after you confirm.
What you'll see
- Divisions come from your league's divisions on the Events page. Athletes with no age appear under "Age not given".
- A Names shown with privacy box appears when a family asked to have an athlete's name shortened or withheld. You can change or undo each choice there.
Troubleshooting
I cannot find the Athlete bios menu. It is only on league sites.
A bio is missing. A bio that has not been confirmed by email, or is waiting for your OK, is not on the board yet.
Questions
Who is this page for?
Athlete bios are part of a league website. The menu item only shows on league sites, not gym sites.
Should I post every bio on social media?
Only the ones marked OK to share. Each bio card shows an OK to share or Don't share tag.
Can an athlete's family edit their bio later?
Yes, with an email attached to the athlete. You can add a parent or family email on the bio's Contact and record section.
