How do I find out what to improve on my website?
On Analytics > Website traffic, the What to improve tab ranks tips from real visits. Videos, Speed & problems, Engagement, Forms and A/B tests show the details.
NinjaHQ watches how real visitors use your website and turns it into a short list of things to fix, with the most valuable first.
Before you begin
- You need some visits first. The more people visit, the better the tips.
- Nothing is recorded of what visitors type. Forms show only which fields were used, how long they took and where people left.
Steps
- Open Website traffic and click the What to improve tab.
- Read What to improve, most valuable first. It is worked out from speed on phones and computers, where people get stuck or give up, which videos they watch, and how far they read. Each tip says what to try.
- For the details, use the other tabs:
- Videos: how often your videos are played and how much of each people watch.
- Speed & problems: how fast pages feel for real visitors, plus frustration signals and script errors. Results are marked good, needs work or poor.
- Engagement: how far people read, which sections they see, and what they tap. Choose a page to see its tap map.
- Forms: forms people started, sent or left, and the field where most people leave.
- To test new wording, click A/B tests. There are two places you can test: the Home page headline and the Home page line under the headline.
- Type the new wording in New Wording to Try and press Start the test. Half your visitors see the new wording at random.
- When the verdict is in, press Use B for everyone to keep the new wording, or Stop, keep A to end the test and keep your current wording.
What you'll see
The A/B tests tab counts a win when a key event (a booking click, call, form, registration or membership) happens after the visitor saw the wording. It says "Too early to tell" until each version has at least 100 visits, then names a winner with 95% confidence or says there is no clear difference yet.
NinjaHQ also reviews the same tip list every week for you.
Troubleshooting
The tabs are empty. Speed and engagement are only measured for visitors who allow it: visitors whose browsers ask not to be tracked, and signed-in staff, are never measured. Check again after more visits.
I cannot start a test. Only owners see the form that starts a test. Other staff can read the results.
Questions
Does this record my visitors' screens?
No. It measures the site itself. There are no recordings of screens, nothing anyone types is saved, and no outside company is involved.
Who can start an A/B test?
Owners start, stop and apply tests. Others can read the results.
How long does a test take?
A verdict needs at least 100 visits for each version, so a quiet site takes longer.
