How do I check athletes in on competition day?

Open the competition and press Competition-day check-in. Search the athlete, press Check in, and hand over any shirt when the prompt appears.

Where: Programs > Competitions > (a competition) > Competition-day check-in

Who can do this: Owners, Managers, Front desk staff

A phone, tablet or laptop at the check-in table is all you need. The page lists every paid athlete, shows who has arrived and reminds you to hand over shirts bought with registration.

Before you begin

  • The Competition-day check-in button shows on a competition once at least one athlete has paid.
  • Pull the shirts in advance with the shirt pickup list.

Steps

  1. Open Competitions and press the competition.
  2. Press Competition-day check-in at the top. If shirts were ordered, a tag next to it says how many are to hand out.
  3. The page opens with the search box ready. Type the athlete's or parent's name in Find an Athlete.
  4. Press Check in on the athlete's row. The button turns to Checked in.
  5. If the athlete has a shirt or other gear waiting, a box titled "Shirt to hand over" opens with a thank-you line to say. Hand it over and press Handed Over, or press Not Yet to leave it for later.
  6. Use the buttons above the list to show Everyone, Not checked in, or Gear to hand out.

Each row shows the athlete, their division and their parent's name. Gear shows as buttons you can also tap directly: Tap when handed over.

What you'll see

At the top: "N of M checked in", and how many shirts are still to hand out. Checking in records who did it and when. Handed-over gear shows "Handed over" and appears that way on the shirt pickup list and your Orders page.

The page also has a Charge a spectator fee button for taking a spectator's payment at the door, and Shirt pickup list if gear was ordered.

Troubleshooting

An athlete is not on the list. They may not have paid. Check the roster; for a late walk-in use + Add a registration on the competition page and choose Paid at the gym.

I checked in the wrong athlete. Press their green Checked in button to undo it.

The shirt prompt does not open. It only appears for athletes who ordered gear with their registration.
