How do I add photos to my website?
Open Website > Photos, choose up to 20 photos, say what each is and shows, then press Add these photos. They are resized and location data is removed.
The Photos screen is where every picture on your website lives. You can add new ones straight from your phone.
Before you begin
- Only add photos of people who agreed to be on the website. For anyone under 18, get a parent's OK.
- Owners and managers can add photos.
Steps
- Open Photos.
- Under Choose Photos, pick up to 20 pictures from your phone or computer. Each one appears as a small row.
- In each row, set This Photo Is to one of: NinjaHQ guesses from the file name, for example a file with a coach's first name in it becomes that coach's headshot. Change the guess if it is wrong.

- a team photo,
- for the Photos page.
- In What It Shows, write one plain sentence, such as "Kids on the warped wall at open gym". It is read aloud to visitors who can't see the picture. Headshots don't need one.
- Press Add these photos (or Add this photo when there is one). Each row turns green when it is saved, or red with the reason.
What you'll see
- New photos show up in the library lower on the same screen, with the places they appear on the site.
- Photos for the Photos page appear on your public Photos page. Coach photos appear on that coach's card. A team photo appears on the Competitions and Classes pages.
- Photos are lightly corrected for contrast and brightness automatically.
- If the status says the page can't add photos, check that JavaScript is turned on in your browser.
Troubleshooting
A row turned red. Read the message in the row. Very small pictures are refused rather than enlarged; try a larger original. A file that isn't a picture, such as a screenshot of another type, can also fail; try a JPEG.
The "Still without a headshot" notice stays. Add a headshot for each coach named in the notice. You can do it here by choosing "a headshot of" that coach, or on the Coaches screen.
I want a photo somewhere specific, like the home page row. Add it first, then use Edit on the photo in the library. See the article about managing photos.
Questions
How many photos can I add at once?
Up to 20. If you choose more, the first 20 are listed and you add the rest in a second round.
Do I need to shrink my photos first?
No. Phone photos are fine. The page shrinks big pictures before sending them, then NinjaHQ makes them load fast and removes the camera's location data.
Can I add photos by asking ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes, if you have connected an AI assistant. See the AI assistant screen in the Website menu.
