What does a website helper see, and how do I use the Start here page?
A website helper signs in to a short Start here page to answer questions, test your site, check their coach profile and send feedback. No customers or money.
A website helper is for someone who is helping you set up or test your website but is not part of running the gym: a friend, a board member, a designer or a coach who knows the details.
Before you begin
- An owner adds them as a Website helper on Staff. See How do I add a staff member or give someone back office access?.
- Owners can choose which question topics a helper gets on the Questions page, under "Who helps answer".
- The helper signs in at the gym's
/ninjahqpage with an emailed code, like anyone else.
Steps
As a helper
- Sign in. You land on Start here, which says "Thanks for helping".
- Answer your questions. Type each answer in Your Answer and press Save answer. Up to ten show here; the rest are on the Questions page in your menu.
- Check your coach profile. If a coach profile is linked to you, press Edit my profile. See How do I edit my own coach profile?.
- Test the website on your phone and on a computer, like a parent would. Use the Pages to test list: Home page, Classes, Schedule, Competitions, Birthday parties, Pricing, Coaches, Contact form and others your site has. Links open in a new tab.
- Tell us what's wrong or missing. Press Send feedback in the menu or the link on the page.
What you'll see
- Your menu has only: Start here, Questions, My coach profile (if linked), Send feedback, What's new and Sign-in & alerts.
- If your site is not live yet, Start here shows the test card to use for practice payments.
- If you open a page you cannot use, you are sent back to Start here with a note that it is for owners and staff.
- The owners make the final calls and approve the launch.
Troubleshooting
There are no questions for me. An owner needs to give you topics. Ask them to open Questions and assign you.
I do not see My coach profile. No coach profile is linked to you. An owner can link one under Roles and coach profiles on the Staff page.
I need to see more. Ask an owner to change your role. See What can an owner, manager, staff member and website helper do?.
Questions
Can a helper see customers or payments?
No. A helper sees no contacts, registrations, waivers, orders, emails, money or settings. Any other page sends them back to Start here.
Which questions does a helper see?
Only the topics an owner gave them on the Questions page. With no topics, they see none.
Is the test card real?
No. While your site is not live yet, payments are in test mode and Start here shows a test card number to use. Nothing is charged.
