How do I put a membership on hold?
Open the member on Programs > Memberships, use the Put on hold box, optionally pick an Until date, and press Put on hold. No payments are taken during the hold.
Holds are for an injury, a trip or a summer away. The member keeps the membership, and no payments are taken during the hold.
Before you begin
- Front desk staff, managers and owners can put a membership on hold.
Steps
Put on hold
- Open Memberships and press the member's name.
- In the Put on hold box, optionally pick Until (optional). Leave it empty to hold until you resume it.
- Leave Email the member about this ticked, or untick it to stay quiet.
- Press Put on hold.
End the hold early
A held membership shows an On hold box with the status line. Press End the hold now. The member is emailed that payments continue.
What you'll see
- The member's status is On hold. Find them with the On hold filter on the list.
Troubleshooting
I cannot find Put on hold. It only shows for live memberships. Ended or unpaid ones do not have it.
Questions
Does a held member count toward Income per month?
No. Held memberships are left out of the monthly income figure on the Memberships page.
Does the member restart automatically?
Yes if you set an Until date. Payments start again after that date. With no date, the hold lasts until you end it.
Is the member told?
Yes, if Email the member about this is ticked. They get a note that the membership is on hold and when payments resume.
