How do I change a member's plan, price or next payment date?

Open the member on Programs > Memberships. Use Change plan or price, or Move the next payment, and choose when it applies.

Where: Programs > Memberships

Who can do this: Owners, Managers, Front desk staff

Everything about one family's membership is on its own page: their plan, a special price, who is covered, and when they are next charged.

Before you begin

  • Front desk staff, managers and owners can change a membership.
  • The When and Move the next payment options apply to memberships billed by card.

Steps

Open Memberships and press the member's name. The boxes on the right are:

Change plan or price

  1. Choose a new Plan, or keep the current one.
  2. Type a Price for This Member to give a discount or an agreed price. Leave it empty for the plan's price.
  3. For card billing, choose When: From the next payment, or Now: charge or credit the difference for the rest of this period.
  4. Leave Email the member about this ticked if you want them told. Press Save the change.

Move the next payment

  1. In Move the next payment, pick Next Payment On.
  2. Press Move it. The member gets free time until that date, then pays from that day each period.

People and contact

Edit Who Pays (Full Name), Phone and People on the Membership (One per Line), then press Save.

Notes for staff

Type a private note in Only Staff See This and press Save the note.

Re-read from Stripe

If something looks out of date, press Refresh in Re-read from Stripe.

What you'll see

The member's page shows the new price and a History table with when, what, amount and who made each change.

Troubleshooting

"Enter the price as an amount, like 99 or 99.50." Type only the number.

I only see some of these boxes. Move the next payment and When apply to memberships billed by card. Manual ones do not show them.

Questions

Does changing a plan's price change what current members pay?

No. Plan prices only affect people who join afterward. Change a current member's price on their own membership.

Is the member told?

Yes, when Email the member about this is ticked on that form.

What does Now do?

It charges or credits the difference for the rest of the current period. From the next payment changes the price starting at the next bill.
